Camouflage techniques are used to balance skin tone and create a natural appearance for areas such as scars, vitiligo, burn marks, and areola/nipple regions. These procedures are often performed using medical micropigmentation methods.

Medical micropigmentation is one of the non-invasive permanent makeup techniques that can be applied to enhance the vitiligo camouflage, scar camoflage, 3D areola and nipple. Micropigmentation introduces pigments into the skin through tiny needles and is applied by a machine. Medical micropigmentation requires finer skills and is more versatile.

 For a successful result, certain conditions must be met;

1. Requirements for Scar, broken glass and plastic surgery scars camouflage:

   •      Mature Scars:

The scar must be fully healed and mature, which typically takes 1 year. Fresh, red, or purple scars are not suitable for this procedure.

   •      Smooth Surface:

The scar surface should be smooth and flat. Raised (hypertrophic) or sunken (atrophic) scars can make pigment retention difficult.

   •      No Keloid Tendencies:

Individuals prone to keloid formation should avoid the procedure, as it may trigger further keloid development.

   •      Healthy Skin:

The area must be free from active infections, irritation, or dermatological issues.

2. Requirements for Vitiligo Camouflage:

   •      Stable Vitiligo:

The vitiligo patches must have been stable for at least 1 year without spreading. Active vitiligo can cause new patches to form after treatment.

   •      Healthy, Unirritated Skin:

The vitiligo-affected areas must not have any irritation, wounds, or infections.

3. Requirements for Burn Mark Camouflage:

   •      Fully Healed Burns:

Burn marks must be fully healed and mature, which can take 1-2 years. Redness or sensitivity indicates the burn is still healing.

   •      Smooth and Healthy Skin Texture:

The burn area should be flat and stable. Excessively raised or uneven areas may not hold pigment effectively.

   •      No Skin Sensitivity:

Burned skin can sometimes remain thin and sensitive, so the risks must be carefully evaluated.

4. Requirements for Areola and Nipple Camouflage:

 •      Healed Surgical Scars:

This procedure is often performed after breast surgeries. Surgical scars must be fully healed, typically after 12 months.

 •     Healthy Skin:

The skin in the areola area must be free of infections, irritation, or any dermatological issues.

5. Requirements for Stretch Mark Camouflage:

Mature Stretch Marks:

 •       The stretch marks must be fully healed and mature.

 •       Mature stretch marks are typically white or light in color. Red, purple, or newly formed stretch marks are unsuitable because they have not completed the healing process.

 •       The area to be treated must be free from active infections, irritation, fungal conditions, or dermatological issues.

 •       The skin must be in good health.

Stretch mark camouflage is a technique that improves the appearance of mature and stable stretch marks by blending them with the surrounding skin tone. Before undergoing the procedure, a professional assessment is necessary to determine whether the individual is a suitable candidate.
